In episode 8, Mike, Alicia and Joey each bring a dish to the table for some “Greasy Potluck” and dive into obscurity, surrealism, psychoplasmics, full-frontal prosthetic penises and rootie-tootie disco cutie pubic hair. Up for dinner is The Greasy Strangler (2016), The Brood (1979) and El Topo (1970)– what an odd aftertaste.
On the next episode we’ll begin our retrospective on Dario Argento. Over the next 5 episodes, one of the three films on each episode will be an Argento flick. After that, we are going to cover the Three Mother’s Trilogy on the final episode of the retrospective. Up first is what foreshadowed Argento’s career as a filmmaker, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. Accompanying the retrospective selection is a new release, The Monster and a personal pick from Joey: the sci-fi noir cult classic, Dark City.
